The Casa Inés accommodation is located a few meters from the pre-Romanesque complex of Valdedios, in the area of the Villaviciosa Estuary Natural Park and very close to Rodiles beach. Also, Villaviciosa is a tourist spot very close to the main cities of Asturias and only half an hour from Picos de Europa and Covadonga.
In Villaviciosa we find a small architectural jewel, the Pre-Romanesque Ensemble of Valdedios, formed by the Church of San Salvador de Valdedios, pre-Romanesque of the 9th century, and a few meters from the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Valdedios, from the 13th century. The Monastery has a small shop with handmade products made by the Samaritan Carmelites: sweets, jams, books, etc.
The Villaviciosa estuary is a Partial Natural Reserve made up of one of the best preserved estuaries in Asturias. It has a great landscape and environmental value, and at its end we find the famous Rodiles Beach. The beautiful natural landscape of the Villaviciosa estuary includes not only the Rodiles beach, but also cliffs, dunes and a variety of waterfowl.
The Tito Bustillo Cave is a World Heritage Site, and the Main Panel can only be visited a few months a year. 250 meters from the Tito Bustillo Cave you will find the Centro de Arte Rupestre Tito Bustillo, a museum where you can discover the Paleolithic rock art of Asturias.
Llanes, of singular beauty, offers several points of interest:
The Rodiles beach, at the end of the Villaviciosa estuary, is over 1 km long and 300 m wide, one of the largest in Asturias. Also, you can enjoy an extensive wooded area of pine and eucalyptus (with tables and benches), and a wooden walk. You can practice water sports, such as surfing and fishing. It has a parking area and access by public transport.
The Rodiles beach is part of the Asturian Jurassic Coast, where numerous sites of the Jurassic period formed by rocks with dinosaur footprints have been found. Very close to the Rodiles beach you will find the deposits of the cliffs of Tazones and the deposits of ichnites of Villaviciosa.
Located in the Picos de Europa National Park, between Caín and Poncebos, the Cares hiking trail is one of the most spectacular in Asturias, as it runs through grottos, bridges and trails carved into the rock in 11 km of distance, 24 km and 6 hours long if you want to make it complete.
Picos de Europa was the first National Park in Spain, declared so in 1918. One of its points of interest is the Sanctuary of Covadonga, at whose entrance we will see the Holy Cave. And to reach the Lakes of Covadonga we will climb about 12 km more, at 1100 m altitude, where there are two lakes of glacial origin; Enol and Ercina, in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Asturias.
The limestone massif Naranjo de Bulnes or Urriellu Peak is located in the Central Massif of Picos de Europa. Climbing it implies 2518 meters high with a verticality of 550 meters on its west face.
